 Good Morning,

My name is Robert Odell Keck; I too graduated from Dudley in 1965.  Thanks to Joan Brincefield I visited herbin.com for the first time yesterday (12/11/07).  I was able to reconnect with Joan after many years.   By chance while visiting a friend at a Nursing Home, I met a nice lady that my nurse knew. After talking for a short time
about my history and where I went to school, she spoke of her Mom Joan, what a small world.

I was born in Greensboro September 16, 1945; Polio took a liking to me in 1948 causing me to use a leg brace and crutches. After graduation, I began using a wheelchair.  I attended Jacksonville, Washington Street, Jonesboro Elementary, and Lincoln Jr. High School and went on to Dudley in 1960 where I hit a road block failing English & Biology.  I had surgery in Gastonia that summer.  During my hospital stay until April 1961 I took classes but I was behind for my age group.  In 1964 I attended summer school because I was a half a credit short required to graduate.  This is why I graduated later than I should have, but I was still determined to graduate.

Thank you for all you’ve done and continue to do honoring our school.  I have fond memories of your sister Brenda; she would always speak with a smile whenever our paths would cross. Rayshon Lindsay is my brother-in-law; I married his sister, Shyrle, in 1970; she has fond memories of Brenda and your Mom as well.

I’m including a few pictures of myself.  Perhaps you may remember me.
